Getting to San Juan, Puerto Rico is hardly difficult. This is mostly thanks to the fact that it's only nine miles away from the Old San Juan district is the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport – the airport caters to both international and domestic flights, and is in fact the primary commercial airport of the city has earned the title “gateway to the Caribbean” for San Juan. Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport is served by some of the world's major airlines including Continental, Delta, American Airlines and British Airways. From that airport, you can take a short ride to San Juan via a taxi, a bus or a car rental.
There are other airports all over Puerto Rico, such as the Fajardo Airport in Fajardo, the Mercedita Airport in Ponce, the Rafael Hernanadez International Airport in Aguadilla, the Humacao Airport in Humacao and the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Airport in Mayagüez. All of these airports are regional airports, meaning that you may have to take another flight from there to Fernando Ribas Dominicci Airport San Juan's domestic airport, which is already pretty much IN San Juan.
Another way to get to San Juan is to get on a cruise trip that cites San Juan as one of its ports. Of course, this would mean that you would have a limited amount of time to explore the city (if the trip doesn't include complementary tours), but it is nevertheless another way of arriving in and experiencing San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Whichever way you choose to take, San Juan promises to be worth it.
